Chelsea’s recent January transfer windows have been quiet, but the 2026 edition could see them part ways with promising youngster Tyrique George.
Despite George being promoted to the first team squad since Enzo Maresca’s hiring as manager, minutes have been difficult to come by in the 2025/26 season.
The youngster has just four starts in all competitions to his name, two of those coming in heavily-rotated League Cup sides.

Cole Palmer’s return saw George drop out of the Premier League matchday squad completely, casting more doubt over whether he has a future at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea want to send Tyrique George to Strasbourg
He was very close to moving to Fulham over the summer, and a Premier League move cannot be discounted due to interest in his services.
However, according to TeamTalk, Chelsea are most keen on sending George to Strasbourg, a club who are owned by BlueCo and have very strong links to the Blues.
The report goes on to say that the England U21 international is now keen on leaving the Blues after his infrequent start to the campaign.
The fact they want to keep the winger under their control would suggest there is still faith that he will turn out to be a player who could make it in West London.
However, the quality the Blues have in that position, added to over the summer by Estevao Willian, Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens, have made opportunities harder to come by.

Chelsea making the most of Strasbourg
The Blues have their Ligue 1 partners to thank for the development of Andrey Santos to the point where he is ready to contribute at Stamford Bridge.
It is clear this relationship is going to continue. Chelsea have Mike Penders, Kendry Paez and Mamadou Sarr on loan there working under Liam Rosenior.
The youngest side in Europe are gaining valuable experience in the Conference League, where they currently sit second in the table.
With former Blue Ben Chilwell providing his expertise, it is an exciting time for Strasbourg, and George would certainly be a great addition to their squad.
