MADUEKE MAGIC! Arsenal thump Brugge + Jesus’ superb return, Arteta’s reaction & player ratings

Well as responses go to defeats, that was a pretty emphatic one last night from Arsenal as they thumped Club Brugge 3-0 in Belgium to make it six wins from six in the Champions League so far this season.

Noni Madueke was obviously the star of the show with his two goals, but Gabriel Martinelli also scored a stunner and set a new record in the process as he became the first Arsenal player ever to score in five Champions League games in a row.

The game also marked the return of Gabriel Jesus, 333 days after he ruptured his cruciate ligament while playing Manchester United in the FA Cup and there was also a senior debut for Marli Salmon, who was introduced late on at the age of just 16.

So all in all it was a good night for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta, one that will hopefully help banish any lingering demons from the painful defeat at Aston Villa at the weekend.

In today’s Inside Arsenal show I reflect on last night’s success in Belgium, going over all the big talking points from the game, looking at what Mikel Arteta had to say afterwards and going over my player ratings.
