Everton boss David Moyes will want new additions through the door in the January transfer market as he aims to improve his squad.
Everton have had a superb start to the Premier League season, currently sitting seventh in the table just two games before Christmas Day – a run of form that nobody would have anticipated despite their move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Although the majority of their squad has been performing well, there are some areas in need of addressing, with a new striker being one of those.
And amid reports that Roma – also owned by The Friedkin Group – are looking to cut Evan Ferguson’s loan short, it could hand the American conglomerate the chance to benefit both Everton and Roma in the coming weeks.

Everton could be handed Evan Ferguson opportunity if January market goes as planned for Dan Friedkin
Well-known Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport claims that initial contacts between Roma and Brighton have already taken place over a potential return to the Seagulls in January.
The Italians have only got four games left until the January window, where Ferguson will be eligible to return to the Premier League.

The Irish talent only moved to the Stadio Olimpico with a £34million option to make a deal permanent, though he’s yet to show any promise of living up to that price tag in his time in the Italian capital.

And, with Roma thought to be interested in a move for Joshua Zirkzee, that could just open up a deal for The Friedkin Group to give both of their flagship sides a helping hand in the attacking market.
Evan Ferguson’s Premier League experience is nothing to be sniffed at for David Moyes
Of course, Ferguson hasn’t been in form for the past 18 months owing to other players ranking ahead of him in pecking orders.
But, if the Toffees are looking for a Premier League striker with experience of putting the ball in the back of the net, Ferguson’s availability, talent and willingness to join would be massively beneficial for David Moyes in what is always a limited January market.

Still only 21, Ferguson bagged six goals apiece in each of his two opening seasons in the Premier League for Brighton, and although he wasn’t fancied by Seagulls boss Fabian Hurzeler last season, it’s evident he knows where the net is. Ferguson has been linked with Everton before and so any rumours aren’t new.
He’s since fallen behind international teammate and Everton target Troy Parrott in the pecking order for Ireland, and with a potential World Cup on the horizon, a move will be a priority for him.
Should The Friedkin Group get somewhere with the Joshua Zirkzee deal to Roma, moving Ferguson to Everton would be much more straightforward – giving David Moyes three striking options and improving the firepower for his Toffees side alongside underperforming Thierno Barry and Beto.
