Mohamed Salah controversy: Liverpool star’s reasons for his bombshell interview

Mohamed Salah’s situation at Liverpool has dominated the Premier League news agenda for the last few days.

The experienced forward gave a bombshell interview following the Reds’ 3-3 draw with Leeds United, accusing the club of ‘throwing him under the bus’. He also claimed that his relationship with manager Arne Slot has collapsed.

Salah’s comments have left everyone shocked and wondering why he behaved like he did last week after being dropped from the team.

According to The Athletic, two possible reasons could have motivated the Egyptian to make the incendiary claims.

Salah either wants to force a move out of Liverpool or because he wants to put pressure on Slot, who is already facing scrutiny following a poor start to the season.

The Merseyside titans do not want to sell the 33-year-old but things could change if the player’s stance remains hardline and no resolution is found.

Saudi Arabia are prepared to do ‘whatever it can’ to bring Salah to the Middle East in the winter transfer window.

Major League Soccer could be another destination for the winger, with MLS’s commissioner Don Garber a huge admirer of him.

Meanwhile, Spain and Italy also remain viable options for Salah.

However, everything depends on the Egypt international. He can apologise for his behaviour and make peace with Liverpool.

Alternatively, if he remains intent on leaving Anfield, then the club will have no choice but to sell him in January.
