“I would put him at Liverpool” – Player urged to ignore Barcelona and join Reds

Crystal Palace star Daniel Muñoz has been urged to ignore interest from Barcelona and instead join Liverpool.

Camilo Zúñiga provides the recommendation today in an interview with Caracol Radio in Colombia. He believes Muñoz would be unwise to leave the Premier League should he depart Crystal Palace.

The full-back has admirers around Europe after impressing for Crystal Palace since joining them in an €8m deal from Genk in January 2024.

He’s flourished as an attacking right-wing-back under Oliver Glasner, with 10 goals and 14 assists in 85 games in all competitions to date.

The Colombian is arguably among the best right-back’s in the Premier League at his moment in time, although some would argue he is actually a specialist wing-back rather than a traditional right-back.

Either way, his performances have earned him attention around Europe. Several sides have been linked, including Liverpool and Barcelona. Munoz has also openly admitted that he wants to play for the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, or even Manchester United if he can.

Some believe he may be the next to leave Selhurst Park. Indeed, Crystal Palace may too as they’ve seemingly lined up Sacha Boey as his replacement.

“I would put him at Liverpool”

If he does go, Zúñiga believes he should be staying in the Premier League. In fact, he thinks Liverpool are the ideal destination for him.

“Because of Dani’s style of play, I would put him at Liverpool,” he said.

“A team with a lot of attacking and box-to-box play would be a great fit for Liverpool because Dani is very active, so he attacks the spaces a lot. So, I would keep him in the Premier League.

“Yes, I would keep him in the Premier League because the slow, methodical style doesn’t suit him. He’s more of an attacker, looking to exploit space. Barcelona gives him a lot of possession, taking the ball there, bringing it back. It’s more of a premium style.”
