Liverpool’s season has been marked by uncertainty and drama, but few sagas have captured the attention quite like the ongoing Mohamed Salah situation. The Egyptian superstar, once the untouchable talisman of the Reds, now finds himself at the center of a storm that could potentially signal the end of his illustrious Anfield career. With the Brighton fixture looming on Saturday, December 13, and his departure for the Africa Cup of Nations confirmed for Monday, December 15, the coming days could prove decisive in determining Salah’s future at the club.

Despite the tension, Salah has committed to being at Anfield for the Brighton match, though he remains uncertain about whether he’ll be playing or watching from the sidelines. The Egyptian’s form has undeniably dipped this season, with just four goals in 13 Premier League appearances compared to his stellar campaign last year when he helped Liverpool secure the title. Liverpool currently sits in a disappointing 10th place in the league table with 23 points from 15 games, a far cry from their championship-winning standards.

There has also been plenty of speculation surrounding the Saudi Pro League making a January attempt (or otherwise) for the Reds No.11. However, Fabrizio Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, has come out to report that neither Salah nor his representatives have started talks with Saudi clubs quite yet:

“I’ve been telling you in recent days after the bomb exploded on Saturday night that Saudi is one of the eventual potential destinations in case Salah leaves Liverpool in the January transfer window or whenever. I told you even before that interview that Saudi always wanted Salah in the last two/three years – and they remain interested. In the last 24 hours, the CEO of the Saudi Pro League – speaking in public – announced and confirmed that Mo Salah is clearly among the targets. The official confirmation from Saudi Pro League: they want Mo Salah. Now we have to see how these conversations will evolve, and if these conversations will evolve because this depends on Salah. The problems with Liverpool are still fresh, and at the moment Salah or his agent have not started any negotiations with Saudi Pro League clubs… but the interest is there.”
