As if like clockwork, the predictable revisionism has begun in the footballing world as Chelsea endure a slump in form.
The Blues lost 2-1 against Atalanta on Tuesday night in the Champions League, and it was yet another bad performance from Enzo Maresca’s side.
EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea have THREE Premier League centre midfielders on the radar – two they would LOVE to sign!
And before that, they played out a boring 0-0 draw against Bournemouth in the Premier League after losing 3-1 to Leeds United in the league as well.
Chelsea have now not won a game in their last four matches, and it’s put them down to 5th place in the Premier League, and 13th place in the Champions League table.
You can definitely call this a slump in form for Chelsea and incidentally, it comes exactly a year after their last big slump that saw them drop down the league places too.
And obviously, when you’re in a slump, people like to bring up former players who they think the club should not have sold.
Madueke and Jackson revisionism
Noni Madueke argues with Nicolas Jackson about taking a penalty.

Former Chelsea player Chris Sutton says:
“More and more, Noni Madueke looks like a really smart signing. I already thought he was a loss to Chelsea.”
As well as that, another former Chelsea player, Paul Parker says:
“I think it’s already clear that Chelsea made a mistake letting go of Nicolas Jackson in the summer. I don’t think Enzo Maresca worked hard enough at managing him, which is why they slipped up and let him go.
“I don’t think he knew what kind of player he had. I’ve always been a fan of Jackson. He never stops running, and every time he made a mistake, he’d be the first player to try and win that ball back.”
Please stop
This is nonsense. Jackson isn’t even doing that well at Bayern, and just because Madueke plays a couple good games all of a sudden we need them both back?
I don’t even think either player is that good and besides that, there was clearly other things going on behind the scenes with both players. Madueke I reckon has attitude problems and thinks he’s better than what he is. And Jackson clearly wanted out and there was things going on there as well.
Just please stop.
