Mikel Arteta's table-topping Arsenal return to Premier League action this weekend
Arsenal will refocus on the Premier League after their mid-week Champions League victory over Club Brugge.
Mikel Arteta is eager for his team to bounce back from last weekend's gut-wrenching 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa, where they conceded a goal in the 95th minute. Despite still topping the Premier League, the Gunners' position is far from secure, with their six-point lead whittled down to just two as Manchester City and Villa breathe down their necks.
A win against Wolves at home this Saturday is crucial if Arteta hopes to end Arsenal's 22-year title drought next May. The festive period promises a flurry of fixtures for an already injury-hit squad, with the January transfer window also looming. Here's all the latest news from the Emirates.

This week saw Gabriel Martinelli heap praise on fellow Brazilian Gabriel Jesus, while urging the Arsenal striker be given some game time following his return to fitness.
After an ACL rupture in January 2025, Jesus was back training with the first team and made his return to the pitch in the 3-0 win over Club Brugge, replacing Viktor Gyokeres in the 62nd minute. He nearly crowned his comeback with a goal late on as he saw his effort from the edge of the area hit the crossbar.
Jesus, 28, was a pivotal part of the team in his debut season at the Emirates Stadium after his £45million transfer from Manchester City in 2022, before injuries and inconsistent form took their toll.

But Martinelli is throwing his full support behind Jesus to shine for the Gunners this campaign, reports the Mirror. Speaking about Jesus' comeback ahead of the clash with Club Brugge, he said: "It's really good, I love him!
"I always say that he is one of the best strikers in the world. I'm really happy to have him back. It's great to have him back, not just on the pitch but off it too because you spend less time with the team when you are injured.
"He's great to play with, he loves to link up and rotate. I hope he gets some minutes in the next game and can show his talent.
"He's so experienced. He's played so many games for City, for us, for Brazil. And he's still so young, I say that to him. It's really good to have him back, I'm really happy and I hope he can show his talent."

Ex-Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu is allegedly on the brink of sealing a switch to European giants Ajax.
Tomiyasu departed the north London outfit in July as a free agent following ongoing fitness woes, having clocked up merely six minutes of senior action last term.

The 27-year-old went under the knife for knee surgery for the second occasion in three years. However, despite being sidelined for 14 months, Ajax are now reportedly closing in on the Japan international, with Fabrizio Romano revealing on Wednesday the deal is in its concluding phases.
Reports suggest Tomiyasu, who joined Arsenal from Bologna in 2021 for £17m, will be handed a temporary deal at the Netherlands side until June, with the option of extending it at the season's end.
