There are just two games left in the Champions League group stage. With Arsenal sitting at the top of the table, who made it into our team of the week for Gameweek six?
We saw big wins for Manchester City, Liverpool and Barcelona during midweek – but did any of them make it into our best XI? Let’s take a look.
GK: Unai Simon
There were a few goalkeepers who managed to keep clean sheets in the Champions League this week, but none of them faced a task as daunting as Unai Simon did.
Athletic Bilbao came under heavy pressure from reigning champions PSG, but Simon made a string of impressive saves to keep them quiet as the game ended 0-0.
RB: Jules Kounde
Jules Kounde doesn’t often find the back of the net, but he managed to do so twice as Barcelona took on Eintracht Frankfurt.
Despite trailing in the first half, Kounde struck twice in three minutes to give the Catalonians a much-needed come-from-behind win.
CB: Piero Hincapie
While Arsenal fans despaired upon learning of Gabriel and William Saliba’s injuries, they have paved the way for Piero Hincapie to show everyone what he can do.
The Ecuadorian was imperious against Club Brugge, dealing with everything that came his way en route to a 3-0 away win.
CB: Nicolas Otamendi
Nicolas Otamendi rolled back the years when Benfica took on Napoli, as he put in a dominant display at the heart of Benfica’s backline.
He neutralised the lively Rasmus Hojlund over the course of the game as Jose Mourinho’s men picked up a hard-fought 2-0 home victory.
