Arsenal chasing two attacking superstars

Arsenal returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion with a 3-0 win over Club Brugge on Wednesday night.

The Gunners were beaten 2-1 by Aston Villa on Saturday, but Noni Madueke’s stunning strike got them off to a good start in Belgium.

The Englishman then nodded in his and Arsenal’s second from close range, before Gabriel Martinelli fired another impressive strike into the net to make it 3-0.

That win leaves the Premier League leaders top of the 36-team Champions League table with a perfect record of six wins from six games so far this term.

Mikel Arteta’s side therefore look almost certain to qualify automatically for the knockout stages of the competition, ands they will now turn their attention back to the Premier League with a game against bottom side Wolves on Saturday night.

Ahead of that match, it has emerged that the Gunners are eyeing moves for two attacking stars.

As per CaughtOffside, the North London outfit have been monitoring AC Milan’s Rafael Leao and Real Madrid forward Rodrygo.

The report claims that the London giants are not on the hunt for a new striker having signed Viktor Gyokeres over the summer, but the league leaders could instead aim to add other attacking players to Arteta’s squad.

Rodrygo, 24, has registered a combined 122 goals and assists in 288 games for Real Madrid since joining from Brazilian outfit Santos back in 2019.

He has fallen somewhat out of favour since the arrival of head coach Xabi Alonso, though, and the report suggests that the Gunners could attempt to lure him to London having been linked with a move for the Brazilian over the summer.

Leao, meanwhile, has scored 76 goals and registered 63 assists in 272 games for Milan since joining from French side Lille in 2019.

The Portugal international is contracted to Milan until the end of the 2027/28 campaign, but it appears that Arsenal could attempt to sign him next year.
