Everton remain linked with this summer transfer target
Everton are looking to further bolster their options in attack once 2026 rolls in and they remain linked with rising Chelsea talent Tyrique George.
The Toffees were looking at potentially signing the 19-year-old over the summer but deals for Jack Grealish and Tyler Dibling instead pushed conversations to the back of the queue. However, it seems the interest hasn’t faded and George remains a potential target for the upcoming windows.
According to TEAMtalk, George is now considering his options away from Chelsea, having started to grow ‘frustrated’ with his lack of time on the pitch under Enzo Maresca.

George has made just 10 appearances in all competitions so far this season, with his time in the Premier League seriously limited. The 19-year-old has played a mere 158 minutes in England’s top flight, with his last appearance coming as a five-minute cameo against Sunderland back in October.
The likes of Estevao, Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho have all moved ahead of George in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, which has sparked the Camden-born starlet to question his options.
With a 2026 departure looking likely, the report claims that Fulham are ‘very much keen’ on striking a deal with their Premier League rivals. Like Everton, Marco Silva’s side also came close to signing George over the summer, so the interest is still lingering. Along with Fulham and the Toffees, new boys Leeds United are also monitoring George’s current situation.
Everton will be hoping to keep their strong start to the season ticking over once they see in the new year. The Blues are currently seventh in the table, ahead of the likes of Brighton and Merseyside rivals Liverpool.
Tyrique George praise amid transfer rumours
Last season, George started to make a name for himself with his breakthrough appearances for Chelsea. He scored his first senior goal for the Blues when they faced Legia Warsaw in the Europa Conference League, which earned him significant praise from pundits.
George played in every Conference League clash for Chelsea last season apart from the final. The Blues went on to lift the trophy, which was a boost following disappointing finishes in the Premier League. Speaking after George’s performance in the Conference League, Joe Cole told TNT Sports: “In what’s been an indifferent season for the club, he’s been a real bright spark. George has taken his opportunities, he’s been direct, he’s affected the games. As a dribbler, he’s every full-back’s nightmare, he just goes at players and he makes things happen. He’s one of them - the fans have been calling for him to start more Premier League games, they really, really like him.”
Karen Carney also had praise for George, and echoed most of Cole’s sentiments about the rising Chelsea star.
“Every time he comes on, something happens,” the former Lioness said. “He’s brave, he takes you on, and he puts the defender right on the back foot, because he’s tricky. And I think his decision-making has gotten better, he’s an exceptional talent.”
