Liverpool are ready to break the bank and pay €100 million to beat Arsenal and Manchester City to the signature of Yan Diomande.
With Mohamed Salah’s future up in the air, Liverpool have already started planning for life without the Egyptian international. They have identified RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande as an ideal long-term replacement, and according to a report from Fichajes, the Reds are preparing a €100 million offer for the 19-year-old Ivorian international.
Diomande, who joined Leipzig from CD Leganes in the summer of 2025, has made quite a name for himself with his impressive performances for club and country. In his 15 outings for the German club, the teenager has seven goals and four assists.
He has impressed one and all with his exceptional dribbling, pace, and finishing. Multiple top clubs have taken note of his performances, and soon, there could be a bidding war for his signature.
Liverpool are one of the clubs that are keen on his signature. While they have been scouting him for some time, the Reds have finally decided to step up their interest as Salah’s future is now very uncertain. The Egyptian international doesn’t have the best of relations with Arne Slot.
Following his explosive interview, the 33-year-old could end up leaving the club after the African Cup of Nations. As a result, the Merseyside club are looking to bring in someone who can help cope with his absence.
Liverpool to break the bank for Diomande
They see Diomande as an ideal fit for their project, and his ability to feature on either flank and his massive potential can certainly help their cause. RB Leipzig have slapped a €100 million price tag on the teenager.
While it’s a massive asking price, the Reds are seriously considering meeting their demands if they are certain that he can replace Salah in the long run. The Merseyside club look set to beat the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal, who have also been keeping tabs on him for some time.
The Gunners feel he could be a much-needed upgrade on the left flank, amidst uncertainty around Leandro Trossard’s future. Meanwhile, City have been looking at him as someone who can further bolster their attack and provide competition to Savinho and Jeremy Doku on the flanks.
He seems to be a priority target for Liverpool at this point. As a result, it will be interesting to see if they actually manage to beat City and Arsenal to his signature.
