Liverpool eyeing move for PSG star

Premier League champions Liverpool will hope to get their domestic season back on track when they face Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

Arne Slot’s side cruised to the top flight title last term but have so far put up a dismal defence of their crown, winning just two of their last ten matches in the competition and currently sit tenth in the table.

The Reds did defeat Inter Milan 1-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday night, but Slot will be desperate to see his side return to winning ways in the Premier League on Saturday.

In the meantime, it has emerged that Liverpool are eyeing a surprise move for a Ligue 1 star.

According to CaughtOffside, the Merseyside outfit are considering a move to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola.

The report suggests that the Reds are planning ahead for the possibility of Mohamed Salah leaving the club in the near future, and are therefore working to identify potential replacements.

PSG’s Barcola has emerged as a potential target, with the Frenchman having impressed since joining the French champions in 2023.

Since joining from fellow French side Lyon, the winger has scored 31 goals and registered 33 assists in 122 games across all competitions, making him one of the most highly rated attackers in Europe at present.

It is claimed that the France international has emerged as a possible target for Liverpool, though, having failed to establish himself as a guaranteed starter for PSG.

Liverpool could therefore look to sign him, with Salah’s future at Anfield uncertain following a shock interview during which he made a number of claims about people ‘wanting him out of the club’.

The Reds could face a battle to sign Barcola, though, with rivals Manchester United also said to be interested in the Frenchman.
