The Hornets announced Thursday that Ball will miss his second consecutive game due to an ankle bone bruise.
The Charlotte Hornets are set to return to action on Friday against the Chicago Bulls, but they'll aim to get a key victory without their franchise star.
Charlotte Hornets / Schedule
In the team's latest injury report heading to their home matchup versus the Chicago Bulls, the Hornets announced that Ball will remain out as he recovers from a left ankle bone bruise. Several other Hornets players are inactive.
Ball sustained the injury from last week's 111-86 win against the Toronto Raptors, in which he didn't play in most of the second half and left the game prematurely.
The star point guard went on to miss the team's 115-106 loss against the Denver Nuggets this past Sunday.
Ball has dealt with multiple ankle issues throughout his career. This season, he is averaging 19.4 points, 6.0 rebounds and a career-best 8.5 assists in 16 games.
The Hornets can only expect a competitive game from the desperate road group, with the Bulls losing seven of their last games.
