The New York Knicks are one of the interested teams that could pursue New Orleans Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado.
Amid a brutal progress so far in this 2025-26 season, the New Orleans Pelicans have obtained the attention of league circles in what might be their next steps.

And should they make Jose Alvarado available for a trade, Ian Begley of SNY revealed that the New York Knicks will be one of the interested teams that could make a move.
Alvarado has been in New Orleans since he entered the NBA in 2021 as an undrafted prospect. But in recent years, he faced inactivity issues due to injuries.
Still, the Puerto Rican has been a reliably solid guard, who became a fan-favorite across the Pels fanbase with his disruptive defense and notable sneaky steals.
He is averaging 9.0 points, 3.1 assists, 2.8 boards and 1.1 steals in 24 games so far this season.
As suggested by Begley, Alvarado is relatively cheap ($4.5MM), with one year left on his current deal. This makes him an enticing asset to pursue among teams aiming for a backup guard.
Already having multiple guards behind superstar Jalen Brunson like Deuce McBride, Jordan Clarkson and Landry Shamet, the Knicks' interest in Alvarado is interesting. But potentially adding the play of the 27-year-old will still be a key boost for head coach Mike Brown.
The Knicks (17-7) are heading to Las Vegas for the semifinal round of the NBA Cup and will face the Orlando Magic on Saturday.
