Paul Merson has openly admitted that he is only predicting Chelsea to beat Everton this weekend because he supports the Blues.
Enzo Maresca’s side have not performed well in recent games, but writing in his Sportskeeda column, Merson is backing them to win despite the fact that they are facing a tough opponent:
“Everton have looked good in recent weeks, apart from that shocking loss at home to Newcastle United. They went to Bournemouth and won quite comfortably – something Chelsea failed to do in their last league game…”
“Moises Caicedo is unavailable for this match. I’m still going to back Chelsea for the win. But I must admit that I went with Chelsea mainly because I support them. This will be a tight game.”
What score has Merson predicted for Chelsea vs Everton?
The Sky Sports pundit has gone with a 2-1 victory to the Blues, which is a result every supporter will take, especially considering the club’s recent results.

Toffees boss David Moyes is set to have Idrissa Gueye and Timothy Iroegbunam back from suspension. However, there are doubts about the fitness of Thierno Barry (shoulder), while Merlin Rohl (hernia), Seamus Coleman and Jarrad Branthwaite (both hamstring) are unavailable.
