It has been over three months since the most turbulent, controversial and, to be honest, draining transfer saga of the summer reached its conclusion. Alexander Isak - now persona non grata on Tyneside - finally got his dream move to Liverpool.
The Reds were looking rosy at the top of the Premier League before Isak’s arrival. Performances had not been great but the Reds still sat top of the tree before their £130million outlay.
However, they have now been dethroned off the top spot by Arsenal, hitting an major wobble to sit 10th in the Premier League. Just one Premier League goal is all Liverpool have to show for their British record investment from eight games.
Newcastle have also endured a mixed start to the campaign - at least domestically. A win over Burnley last weekend lifted the Magpies to 12th ahead of the Tyne-Wear derby.
An underwhelming league campaign has not stopped Toon supporters from hate-watching every second of Isak’s demise at Liverpool. But how do stats boffins Opta believe both clubs will move forward from now until the end of the season? NewcastleWorld has profiled their latest predictions below.
