John Terry names the three Chelsea legends he’d love to put into this current squad

John Terry will know all about the good times in the modern era at Chelsea, and he is keeping a very close eye on ongoing proceedings at Stamford Bridge.

Terry was in awe of Chelsea’s performance against Arsenal when they dominated proceedings with 10 men, however it is now three games without a win in all competitions since then.

This included a defeat to Leeds United, despite Terry warning the Chelsea players that the atmosphere would be hostile.

It is clear that the lack of experience in challenging moments has been to Chelsea’s detriment in recent years, as they continue to push on with the project of having the youngest side in the league.

John Terry would bring Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba and Petr Cech back to Chelsea

Blues fans can only dream of some of their club legends adding to the quality Enzo Maresca already has at his disposal, and Terry was asked by Reece Mennie which three players he would bring back.

He said: “In terms of old players? It would have to be Lamps, Didier, and Petr Cech for me.”

Despite Joao Pedro’s goal in midweek, Chelsea are in desperate need of someone to find the net on a regular basis, something both Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba certainly did.

Goalkeeper is also a massive area of concern despite recent improvements from Robert Sanchez. However good he gets, there are few better to ever play than Petr Cech.

Maresca needs to get it right against Everton

Enzo Maresca is starting to come under pressure from portions of the Chelsea fanbase after their recent poor results, as well as some bizarre in-game decisions.

Estevao Willian cut a frustrated figure when he was an unused substitute in the Champions League against Atalanta, and should return to the starting side.

There is a strong chance it is the first time Chelsea fans see him and Cole Palmer starting together for the first time in a competitive game.

Four games in a row without a win has made the Premier League game against Everton must-win for the Blues, and a match where Maresca’s big players are going to have to step up.
