The Warriors superstar sustained a quad contusion back in late November, and he admitted that there's still some soreness and plenty of work he has to do in order to fully recover.
"It was a contusion that turned into, or combined with, a muscle strain," Curry said in Thursday's conference. "They call it the VMO [vastus medialis oblique], toward the bottom of your quad. The hardest part is getting full range of motion back, which I only got back about three or four days ago.
"Right now, it’s a pain-tolerance thing and getting the strength back. All the work you put in—muscle endurance, getting everything firing along the whole chain—that’s what the focus has been over the past week. Once I got full range of motion back, I could get back on the floor pretty quickly and return to moving normally."
Curry missed the last five games, in which the Warriors went 2-3 throughout the stretch. Their victories came from their recent road trip by beating both the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Chicago Bulls.
He is averaging 27.9 points in 39.1 percent three-point shooting with 4.0 assists this season.
