All the latest injury news surrounding Crystal Palace and Manchester City as they prepare to face off in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Manchester City are second, closing the gap to Arsenal to just two points last weekend, and they claimed a big away win over Real Madrid in the Champions League during the week. Here we round up all the latest injury news surrounding both teams heading into this one.
Mateo Kovacic - Out
Kovacic will be out until the spring with an ankle injury. Guardiola has said: “He will be out for a while... He still has a problem with the ankle; a little calcification [is] still there. We'll wait on him for the last part of the season.”
Rodri - Out
Guardiola said last week: “He is getting better. So, I don't know how long, but he is at the stage where, in a few weeks, he will be ready.”
Daniel Muñoz - Out
Glasner confirmed this week that the defender will be out until some time in January. “It's bad news,” said the Palace boss. “We will miss Dani for a few weeks; he will undergo surgery. The prognosis is 4-6 weeks, then he should be ready to play. But always, when you undergo surgery, you never know. We are always cautious. It doesn't look so serious.”
Ismaila Sarr - Doubt
Glasner hsaid at the start of the month: “Honestly, it doesn't look too bad, but he will definitely miss both games this week. There are some issues with his ankle ligaments - they are not completely torn, but there are some issues. We are still hopeful that he could return before AFCoN, but we have to do further assessments.” There is a very outside chance Sarr could return here, but it looks doubtful.
Jean-Philippe Mateta - Fit
Glasner confirmed before the Shelbourne game: “JP will rest. He came back with a minor injury from the French national team, and we had to manage his knee the whole time. There was a little bit of swelling, and he just didn't feel well. The plan is that he will return to training on Friday, and then he should be available.”
Jaydee Canvot - Doubt
Glasner said during the week: “Then today, Jaydee Canvot came, and he was unwell. So we had to send him home.” Canvot could be back but remains a doubt.
Cheick Doucoure - Out
Doucoure is out long-term with a knee injury.
Chadi Riad - Out
Riad remains out as he looks to work his way back from a long-term knee issue. In late November, Glasner said: “Chadi is a little tricky. It’s always a little up and down. We have 2-3 days where it looks really good, but then there are one or two where it doesn’t. He’s not always training. It’s a daily decision. We are just doing the best for him. We want to be really cautious because he’s been out for such a long time.”
Rio Cardines - Out
Cardines remains out with an adductor problem.
Kporha remains out with a back injury. It’s been a good few weeks since the last update on his condition.
