Arne Slot has revealed he will speak with Mo Salah on Friday, with the Liverpool head coach saying: “The outcome of that conversation determines how things will look.”
Salah and Slot have not spoken since the Egyptian’s interview after the 3-3 draw with Leeds last weekend – bar a short exchange informing him he will not travel to Inter Milan.
It comes with a strong indication that Salah has played his last game for Liverpool, with a number of clubs in Saudi Arabia interested in a January transfer.
There has been no decision yet over whether the 33-year-old will feature in Saturday’s clash with Brighton – which either way will be his last for the club this year due to the Africa Cup of Nations – with a call to be made after talks on Friday.

Slot told reporters in his pre-match press conference: “I will have a conversation with Mo this morning and the outcome of that conversation determines how things will look tomorrow.”
With a clear fracture between player and coach, Slot was asked what he needed from Salah to resolve the situation.
“What I need is a conversation with him,” he replied.
“I think the next time I speak about Mo should be with him and not in here, but you can keep on trying.
“There’s not much more to say than I’ll speak with him today and the outcome of that conversation determines how things will look tomorrow.”

Questioned on whether the issue with Salah revolved around needing more from his No. 11 defensively, the Dutchman reiterated his stance – while revealing talks had taken place between the club and the forward’s representatives.
“You can try it in multiple ways, but I think I just said: the next time I speak about him should be with him,” Slot said.
“In the last week after the Sunderland game I think there have been a lot of conversations between his representatives and ours, and between him and me after the Sunderland game.”
Liverpool will be without a number of players for the visit of Brighton, with Cody Gakpo and Wataru Endo the latest absentees while Alexander Isak will be assessed for a knock picked up in midweek.
Federico Chiesa has however returned to training and will be in the squad – hopefully alongside Salah.
