Mohamed Salah's transfer value has taken a hit following his early-season performance for Liverpool, amidst swirling rumours of a potential January departure. Despite signing a new contract with the Reds in April, a rift with Arne Slot has sparked serious worries.

Salah's Anfield future hangs in the balance after he accused the club of scapegoating him. The 33-year-old also made headlines by stating he had no relationship with manager Arne Slot during a bombshell interview.

He was notably absent from the squad for Tuesday night's Champions League victory over Inter. It's anticipated that crucial discussions with Slot will take place in the next few days before Salah heads off to the Africa Cup of Nations to play for Egypt.

A January transfer could now be on the cards for the forward. Reports suggest that several Saudi Arabian clubs are prepared to pull out all the stops to secure Salah's signature when the transfer window swings open.

Al-Hilal, Al-Qadisah and Neom are all reportedly interested, while American teams San Diego and Chicago Fire are also monitoring the situation. Back in September 2023, Al-Ittihad tabled a whopping £150million bid for Salah, which Liverpool turned down.

Omar Mugharbel, the chief executive of the Saudi Pro League, recently confirmed that the forward is on the radar of several clubs. However, according to the well-respected CIES Football Observatory's player valuations, Salah's current worth is a mere €35million (£30m).

This represents a significant fall from the Saudi Arabian bid in 2023 and a decrease from the €50m (£43.8m) valuation in June. The decline in Salah's value is attributed to his advancing age - he'll be turning 34 this summer - coupled with his underwhelming performance and Liverpool's disappointing results.

The Reds currently sit in 10th place in the Premier League table, having lost six of their first 15 matches. Speaking on Friday, Slot was asked what the latest on Salah was ahead of the Brighton game. "I will have a conversation with Mo this morning and the outcome determines it [him playing at the weekend]," he said.

"What I need is a conversation with him and the next time I speak about Mo should be with him and not in here. There's not much more I can say.

"I speak to him today and the outcome determines how things will look tomorrow. You can try multiple ways but I just said the next time I speak about him should be with him. I think there's been a lot of conversations since the last week between his reps and ours."

He added: "Who made the call? I think we decided as a club and I was part of that not to take him to Inter. I am always in contact with them with lineup and squads, that is always left to me. I talk to Richard Hughes more than Michael Edwards, we speak about many things.

"Do I want him to stay? Another way of asking but the next time I speak about Mo will be with him. I see no reason why I don't want him to stay. It's useless asking this question...unbeaten in four? This club has won a lot of games with Mo, so that is the answer [for feeling vinidicated]."
