Newcastle United and Sunderland join forces against Liverpool as Alexander Isak hilariously…

One Sunderland supporter used his own health issues to throw shade at former Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.

Sunderland duo Wilson Isador and Noah Sadiki broke character to hilariously laugh at one supporter who mocked Alexander Isak.

Ironically, the most detested former player on Tyneside has united a divided region ahead of the Tyne-Wear derby. Isak bagged a brace the last time the two teams met in January 2024.

Those goals helped etch the Swede into Geordie folklore, with Newcastle United fans conjuring up a terrace chant on the back of that 3-0 win. However, Isak well and truly burned his bridges at St James' Park over the summer.

Newcastle United hate-watch

Just one Premier League goal since leaving the Magpies has given Liverpool little justification for their £130million transfer fee. Across all competitions, Isak has just two goals from 14 appearances.

His demise has offered solace to Newcastle despite their campaign being far from sensational. To compound Isak’s misery, Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah has gone rogue with manager Arne Slot and his future remains uncertain.

Sunderland fan makes hilarious joke

One Sunderland fan had two first-team stars in stitches by cracking a joke at Isak’s expense. And in the most unlikely event before this weekend’s Tyne-Wear derby, the Black Cats even gained a chuckle from Tyneside…

Speaking to Isador and Sadiki via Sky Sports, Sunderland supporter Dan joked: “I’ve been supporting Sunderland for over 30 years, and as you probably know, it’s been very up and down. We’ve had a lot of tough times.

“To show the stress it puts on you, look at this scar on my chest - it’s from a heart transplant, I had an operation about five years ago. My heart stopped working… just like Alexander Isak this summer.”

‘I expect more’ - Alexander Isak

When asked about the summer saga last week, Isak swerved the question in another middle finger to Newcastle fans. He told Sky Sports: "I don't really reflect on it (the summer) that much. It is in the past, my focus is here. It is best to just stay in the moment. I expect to do much more, of course.

“As a footballer, you want to be in that flow and play in every game and train every training session. Even when I do really well, I want more. So that’s not a problem for me. I’m just trying to stay positive, trying to work to do better. That’s what I’m looking to do.

"Obviously, I’m the first one to know, and I know best, when I’m doing good and when I’m not doing good. I don’t need anyone to tell me how I’m doing. That’s not a problem for me."
