Arne Slot will hold talks with Mohamed Salah ahead of Liverpool’s game with Brighton.
Salah was stood down for Tuesday’s Champions League win against Inter Milan after revealing that his relationship with the head coach had broken down.
The Egypt international also claimed in the interview that Saturday’s visit of the Seagulls would be his Anfield farewell before heading to the Africa Cup of Nations.
But Slot insists that any decision on Salah’s involvement in the Reds’ latest Premier League encounter is dependent on the outcome of a summit between the pair.
He said: “I will have a conversation with Mo this morning and the outcome of that conversation determines how it will look tomorrow.
“What I need is a conversation with him and the next time I speak about Mo should be with him and not in here.
“You can keep on trying but there’s not much more to say other than I will speak to him today and the outcome of that conversation determines how things will look tomorrow.”
Slot also revealed Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas Issa had been in dialogue with the club after he was on the substitutes’ bench for three straight games.
However the Liverpool head coach admitted the decision to ground the 33-year-old for the trip to Italy was a collective one between himself and the club’s hierarchy.
“I think we decided as a club – and I was part of that decision – not to take him to Inter Milan,” added Slot.
” I am always in contact with them but when it comes to the decision-making of the lineup or the squad they always leave it open to me.
“But that is not to say I don’t talk to them, mainly (sporting director) Richard [Hughes] not Michael [Edwards]..
“But I talk to him about so many things. The decision to play a player or have him in the squad – as I have experienced until now.
“I think this will never change – is entirely up to me.”
