“Start to get on your nerves” – Legend explains why Salah tension at Liverpool may have been building

Mohamed Salah’s attitude at Liverpool has likely been annoying the rest of the team in the dressing room for some time.

That’s at least according to German legend Oliver Kahn. He’s been speaking about the developing situation at Liverpool today. His comments on the Sky program “Triple – the Hagedorn Football Talk have been relayed by Welt Fussball.

Salah is currently in open war with Liverpool after going public with his unhappiness in the aftermath of the 3-3 draw with Leeds United last weekend.

He made it clear in comments to the press that he has no relationship with Arne Slot. He’s also unhappy at being benched by the Dutch manager. He accused the club of throwing him under the bus amid their struggles this season.

A departure from Anfield now seems very likely. That’s despite Salah only signing a new at the club in the summer when his contract was expiring. The situation is a tense one, to say the least. Some even believe there is a clear divide in the Liverpool dressing room between Salah and the older players and the summer signings.

Kahn can certainly see that being the case. In fact, he thinks the Egyptian’s attitude may have caused issues before now.

“When players, no matter how deserving they are, reach a certain age, they think they’re untouchable and can say anything, and then it’s almost too late for a club,” he said.

“These players then start to get on your nerves, even within the team. As a club, you then have to consider taking action.”

Things not going well at Liverpool

Didi Hamann is another Liverpool fan who is unimpressed by the situation. He insists he can’t see Salah’s point at all.

“Things aren’t going well at all. And then Salah can’t think of anything better to do after conceding a last-minute equalizer than to stand there and complain about his personal situation. If you have a problem, go to the coach. I have no understanding for that,” he added.
