If Thomas Gravesen thinks you’ve gone in a bit rashly, then you probably have. So, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah may want to take note of the Everton cult hero’s latest comments.
Tipsbladet have comments from the Everton favourite today. He’s had his say on the Mohamed Salah drama at Liverpool on his Viaplay program ‘Tøffe vs. Graver’, alongside Stig Tøfting.
For those that don’t know, Salah is in open rebellion against Liverpool and Arne Slot at this moment in time.
He went public with his displeasure over the weekend, opening up to journalists in a seven-minute rant after the 3-3 draw with Leeds United.
Salah had spent that game sat on the bench, having failed to start for the third straight game. He accused Liverpool of throwing him under the bus, while revealing he has no relationship with Slot at this moment in time.
The comments, as you might expect, have caused a stir. Most have sided with Liverpool on the matter, labelling Salah a disgrace for going public with his grievances.
Everton favourite labels rant ‘huge own goal’
Gravesen isn’t going that far, but the former Everton man does think the Liverpool star was misguided.
“I think people were hugely surprised by the timing of it all,” he said.
“And why Mohamed Salah felt it was necessary to go to the media with it. I think it was a completely misplaced interview for him to come out with it at this time. It has been a huge own goal for Mohamed Salah. Both the way and the time.”
Gravesen believes the whole affair should have been dealt with behind closed doors, something Tøfting agrees with. He feels it was a power play to get rid of Slot, which has evidently backfired.
“You can come back, but he will not come back for that match (Brighton),” he added.
“We have heard from Slot that he has not spoken to Salah yet. They will play in a moment. Time heals wounds. I think it is more likely that he has played his last match (for Liverpool).
“I think he has been so angry with the coach he has had that he would do everything he could to get that coach out.”
