Jamie Carragher has told Mo Salah his 'failure to fully grasp' the mentality of Liverpool fans means Arne Slot will emerge from their row even stronger.
Salah, 33, finds himself in limbo at Anfield following his explosive claim that the club had "thrown him under the bus" in a shocking interview last weekend. The Egyptian had watched from the sidelines as Liverpool twice blew the lead in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Leeds United, marking his third consecutive match starting on the substitutes' bench.
Speaking afterwards, the veteran winger revealed to journalists his relationship with Slot had completely broken down and suggested that 'someone' was orchestrating his departure from the club. Carragher slammed Salah's remarks, branding them a 'disgrace' and accusing the forward of attempting to undermine Slot's position.

The former Reds defender has now delivered another cutting assessment, reports the Mirror. Writing in his Telegraph column, he said: "If Mohamed Salah's intention with his grumble in the huddle at Elland Road was to weaken Slot, he must now concede that his misguided actions have had the opposite effect.
"The chief reason for Salah's miscalculation is his failure to fully understand the psychology of the club's hardcore fanbase. In a choice between a title-winning Anfield manager and a multi-title-winning footballer, the coach wins every time."
Carragher had spoken about the bond between the club's fans and its past managers, highlighting how supporters chanted for Slot during Tuesday's 1-0 victory over Inter Milan. With Salah absent from the squad and Slot yet to confirm his participation in Saturday's match against Brighton - but saying it would depend on the result of a conversation they will have on Friday - speculation is rife.

Carragher also responded to criticism he received for his critique of the Egyptian star, stating: "I couldn't care less, because I intuitively know I am on the same page as those supporters who were at San Siro on Tuesday night.

"I am in touch with enough of them to be able to measure if my mood reflects theirs. The day I no longer believe that to be true is the day I stop commenting on Liverpool."
Carragher said: "Even though I have been furious about what he said last weekend, it would be an absolute travesty if that interview is remembered as his last meaningful act for Liverpool.
"He has done too much for the club for that to be so. He owes it to himself to make sure he is afforded a farewell fit for a legend – whenever that might be. If that means he has to apologise, so be it."
