Enzo Maresca maintains ‘completely relaxed’ position about Chelsea’s form

Enzo Maresca reflected on the struggles for consistency in the **Chelsea**camp.

The Italian picked up the award of **Premier League**Manager of the Month for November, but after a 1-1 draw against Arsenal, form has been faltering in West London. The Blues were beaten 3-1 by Leeds United, then drew 0-0 with **Bournemouth**last weekend, and suffered a 2-1 loss to **Atalanta**after a comprehensive 3-0 triumph over **Barcelona**on the previous Champions League matchday.

“These kind of things [winning the award] is because you do the right things in terms of performance and results. For us, November was fantastic. December, we didn't start in the way we would like. Even if it's just one week ago we played Leeds, eight days ago we played Leeds. So it's just three games in a row in one week that we didn't get results that we expect. But now focus on the next one.

“I understand that most of the time we are always looking for problems or things that we need to solve. But again, Leeds game was last Wednesday. It's eight, nine days ago. Now in eight, nine days ago we are not going to change our season because we didn't get the points that we expect for sure.

“But I'm completely relaxed. I'm completely okay because I'm sure that at the end of the season we're going to be where we have to be. The reason why we dropped points, again, because it's football.

“Bournemouth* away, we drew. Leeds away was a bad day for us, for all of us. Atalanta game, again, it's a game that for me, we were in the game, we were winning, we were okay. And we conceded, if you review the first goal, they had one player inside the box and we had seven players. So we have seven against one and we conceded the goal. So big mistakes are things that we need to improve.*

“In the season, the teams that are more consistent at the end, they are teams that are going to be there. What do we need to avoid that? Probably with what happened last year, now again it's just one week, it's not a long time. But for sure when something happens, the next one you are more ready, more prepared, and you can avoid that.

*“All the games, they're important. I think Bournemouth was important. The next one, we have Cardiff City and then Newcastle United. They are all important. So if we are able to beat Everton tomorrow, it's much better for us. Otherwise, we continue to try and to see how we can do better.”*
