Since joining the club from Spanish outfit Villarreal it's been a tough start for Thierno Barry as he's trying to acclimatise to the English game, however in recent weeks you could sense a goal was coming.
The Frenchmen has started the last six games for the Blues and was getting stronger as the games went on. In the 3-0 victory over Fulham despite not scoring Barry got a standing ovation from the Evertonians inside the Hill Dickinson.
Few days earlier the 23-year-old missed a glorious chances against Sunderland but bounced back. The former Basel man likes to drop deep and link players into the game something which we've seen on a couple of occasions.
This was demonstrated in Everton's 2-0 win over Brighton where Barry played a key role in both goals and earnt praise from French icon Thierry Henry on Monday Night Football.
Against Manchester United Barry won 14 aerial duels which was the most this season and finally broke his duck in the 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest as he curled his effort past Mats Sels to add Everton's second.
Speaking to the press David Moyes could sense that there's been an uplift in his mood.
"I think his mood has changed greatly but I sensed it for a little while. He's training better and he's looking more comfortable in a lot of situations and a lot of action he's involved in.
I was pleased he got the goal because you'll be judged as a number nine by the goals you get and what you do.
He's shown he's a good teams player, he's certainly beginning to look a lot more settled. He's speaking a bit more than he did before I don't know if it was getting more confidence with his English or just generally getting more confident.
But, the goal has hugely made a difference by the looks of it as well."
Barry has shown that he's improving and is getting a better understanding of the Premier League, but with the forward getting his first goal could it be a catalyst that fires Everton into European contention?
