NBA insiders name the clear frontrunner to land Giannis

League insiders believe Giannis Antetokounmpo might be willing to call Miami his next home, with a potential package of Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, and Jaime Jaquez Jr. being sent out.

Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has been involved in various trade rumors ever since the Bucks’ disappointing playoff exit against the Pacers last season.

For several years now, the Bucks haven’t been able to assemble a roster comparable to their 2021 championship-winning team, and after a tough start to this season, the rumors have once again reached a peak.

Multiple teams have been rumored as frontrunners to trade for Giannis if he ultimately requests a move, including the Knicks and the Spurs. However, league insiders currently believe the Miami Heat could be a destination Giannis might be willing to call his next home.

“The Miami Heat, for example, are often cited by league insiders as a place that Antetokounmpo might be willing to call his new basketball home,” Sam Amick of The Athletic reports.

“Pat Riley and company could offer the Bucks a yacht full of draft assets, all their best young players (All-Star Tyler Herro, promising young big man Kel’el Ware, small forward Jaime Jaquez Jr.), and salary filler (Terry Rozier, if the NBA allows it) to make the numbers work,” Amick adds.

Giannis is in his 13th season with the Milwaukee Bucks and still has a contract with the team through the end of the 2026–27 season, with a player option for 2027–28.

This season, he has appeared in 17 games, averaging 28.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game.
