Ex-NBA All-Star Compares Oklahoma City Thunder vs Michael Jordan's Bulls

If you want to be a dynasty in the NBA, your going to have some stiff competition.

Are you as dominant as the Steph Curry and Kevin Durant Golden State Warriors? Can you match the star power, glitz, and glamor of the Los Angeles Lakers featuring Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal?

And most importantly, how do you stack up with Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls of the 1990s?

The reigning NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder are 24-1 and in the NBA Cup semifinals with more draft picks than every team in the league combined. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is looking to repeat as MVP of the league, and in a game where offense has exploded to never-before-seen levels, the Thunder might possess the greatest defense the NBA has ever seen.

Even with their amazing start to 2025, one former All-Star doesn't believe that the Thunder can even touch Jordan's dynastic Bulls.

"People actually feared the [the Bulls], because everyone feared Michael Jordan," former Washington Wizards mainstay Gilbert Arenas said on his podcast. "You could tell in the layup lines back then."

While Arenas expressed that the Thunder are, without a shadow of a doubt, an incredible, all-time team, crushing the competition of their era, that their overall aesthetic and intrigue can't match the aura the Bulls brought to the game during their run.

When asked whether the players in the current NBA landscape are scared to play the 24-1 Thunder, Arenas was quick to respond: "I wouldn't think so."

The Thunder will look to improve their record and reach the NBA Cup Finals on Saturday when they face the San Antonio Spurs (17-7) in Las Vegas.
