The Milwaukee Bucks are continuing to reject other teams' inquiries around Giannis Antetokounmpo and will only entertain a much-awaited deal under one condition.
Amid being the top subject of discussions across the league, the Milwaukee Bucks will only consider moving on from Giannis Antetokounmpo if the Greek star formally asks to be traded.
Milwaukee Bucks / Schedule
That's what veteran league insider Marc Stein has insisted in his recent appearance on talkSPORT, noting that it will all begin under the final say of Antetokounmpo.
“Teams are calling the Bucks, and the Bucks keep telling teams: ‘He’s not available, we’re not trading him.’ The only way there’s gonna be a Giannis sweepstakes — Giannis himself has to go to the Bucks and say ‘I want out.’ He has to firmly say it, and that has not happened," Stein said.
Speculations and whispers surrounding Giannis' future in Milwaukee have been swirling for the past couple of weeks, with several teams already emerging as the top possible destinations for the two-time MVP.
Yet as it is, there's still no official word coming from Antetokounmpo that he wants to be dealt by the Bucks.
The uncertainty between Giannis and the Bucks stems from the team's recent struggles. Milwaukee has lost 10 of its last 13 games and is currently 10th in the East with an 11-15 record.
The upcoming matches would be daunting for the group as their franchise star will remain out for a significant time due to calf issues.
Should the Bucks' downslide continue, everyone can only wait for that moment when Antetokounmpo will finally push for a fresh start to satisfy his chase of that second career NBA title.
But right now, the Bucks are motivated to push through and prove to Antetokounmpo that they can capably compete to win it all.
