BBC Sport provide major update on Chelsea’s shirt sponsorship situation

Chelsea are advancing in talks for a front shirt of sponsor, whilst they are in the closing stages of agreeing a multi-year sleeve sponsor according to reports.

The Blues have now entered three consecutive seasons without a front of shirt sponsor, although they did announce a sleeve sponsor with FPT for the remainder of the campaign.

Chelsea haven’t been without a sponsor for all of that time, and have had a number of short term deals with Infinite Athlete appearing on the shirt for part of the 2023/2024 season, whilst Damac appeared for a handful of games towards the end of last season.

Chelsea advancing in talks for a new front of shirt sponsor

The Blues are reportedly looking for a deal worth around £60m per season, and there were reports Chelsea were close to a deal with Oracle.

Unfortunately those reports were believed to be wide of the mark, with a front of shirt sponsor still yet to be announced by the club.

However, there could be good news on the horizon, and BBC Sport have reported Chelsea are in the final stages of signing a multi year sleeve sponsorship deal, and are advancing in talks for a front of shirt sponsor.

The report adds the new sleeve sponsor is set to be announced in the coming weeks, with the front of shirt deal currently not as advanced.

Why it’s taken Chelsea so long to find a sponsorship deal is unclear, but one reason could be because of the 74 charges hanging over the club, with a resolution yet to be reached.

Blues missing out on revenue

The lack of shirt sponsor is causing Chelsea to miss out on much needed revenue compared to their rivals who all have multi million pound deals.
