Report: The Friedkin Group told financial 'milestone' at Everton's new stadium has been smashed

Everton have seen a lot change in the 12 months since The Friedkin Group secured their takeover on Merseyside.

One of the biggest changes at the club has been Everton’s move into the state-of-the-art Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The Toffees have already made the new stadium feel like home with some really impressive results on the pitch over the opening few months.

However, just as impressive as team’s performances has been just how The Friedkin Group have been able to extract every last penny of revenue out of their new home.

Earlier this week, the Hill Dickinson Stadium was awarded Project of the Year as the incredible work to complete the new home of the Blues was recognised internationally.

And the good news just keeps on coming as the latest update regarding the stadium will really please the Friedkins.

Tickets went on sale on Thursday morning, and in just a matter of hours, it was claimed over 10,000 had already been sold.

With the ‘big milestone’ already being ‘smashed’, the tickets that are left unsold over the weekend will go on general sale on Monday.

The early ticket news is incredibly positive as the Toffees are once again showing that they are becoming the one of the top venues for non-football events in the north of England.

Everton may miss out on another rugby fixture amid major concern

The Hill Dickinson Stadium has transformed Everton’s finances, with events like the Magic Weekend providing them with a revenue stream that Goodison Park was unable to offer.

However, some of the organisations booking such big events still have slight concerns over the new stadium’s size.

It is believed that the Rugby League have concerns over Everton’s stadium capacity, with the likes of Old Trafford viewed as more suitable to hold the Grand Final.

This is something that the Friedkins may eventually be able to resolve, though.

With the new stadium named as a host venue at the 2028 Euros, it has been suggested that Everton could increase the Hill Dickinson Stadium’s capacity.

Whether that turns out to be the case will have to be seen.
