Former Arsenal striker Alan Smith has told GoonerNews that Arsenal will feel nervous with Man City so close behind them.
Last year we didn’t get a Man City and Arsenal title fight, as Liverpool cruised to the title. But this season, the Gunners have a two point lead over Pep Guardiola’s side, so it looks as though it could be a two horse race again.

City closed the gap as they beat Sunderland 3-0 following Arsenal’s defeat to Aston Villa. It means that Guardiola’s side are just two points behind Arsenal heading towards the Christmas period, which could get the Gunners looking nervously over their shoulders.
Former Arsenal forward Alan Smith told GoonerNews via BestBettingSites.co.uk: “From City’s point of view, they’ll be feeling if we can stay in touch, we can stay close to Arsenal, we might have that advantage over them come the final run in.
“And that’s a challenge for Arsenal, psychologically. And City are showing signs of staying very close to Arsenal. And as you said, they’ve got that winning experience. So that’ll be their aim, just to keep going. And obviously, they’re doing pretty well at the moment.”
Arsenal remain favourites to win the league
Despite the fact that Arsenal have Manchester City lurking behind them by just two points, the Gunners are still the favourites to win the league title.
Opta’s Supercomputer Simulation suggests that the Gunners are going to finish on 80.08 points, which would be enough to hand them the league title. It says that Arsenal have a 71.95% chance to win the Premier League.
The same simulation says that Man City will finish on 72.77 points, and have an 18.66% chance of winning the league. Behind City and Arsenal is Aston Villa, who it predicts will have a 5.99% chance to shock the country and win the league title over the other two contenders.
