Liverpool 'have sights' on 'incredible' £88 million African star as summer move possible

Liverpool are among the clubs who have been linked with the Bundesliga winger.

Liverpool are among the clubs who have their ‘sights’ on Yan Diomande, reports suggest.

The winger has been in rampant form for Red Bull Leipzig this season. Diomande has fired seven goals and four assists in 14 games since moving to the German club from CD Leganes during the summer transfer window.

In the Bundesliga, he has been one of the star performers and is still only aged 19, so is well short of his peak years. Diomande will also represent Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations in their bid to defend their crown later this month.

Diomande’s form has unsurprisingly reportedly caught the eye of several clubs, including Liverpool. Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg claims that Leipzig will demand at least £88 million if they are to sell the teenager after next year’s World Cup.

Plettenberg posted on X: “Top clubs from England all have Yan #Diomande in their sights: Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City and many more. #LFC

“Contrary to other reports, there are no concrete or advanced talks with any club. Contract until 2030 with no release clause. A move after the World Cup is possible. Leipzig are considering a fee of over €100 million. Incredible talent.”
