"I'm looking at..." - Expert reveals where "problems are" at Liverpool amid Salah-Slot fallout

**The real “problems” at Liverpool currently don’t lie with Mohamed Salah and Arne Slot, according to former Everton CEO Keith Wyness.**

The Reds have suffered a tumultuous season on and off the pitch, with [Salah’s interview last weekend](https://live4liverpool.com/journalist-drops-massive-update-on-mohamed-salah-playing-for-liverpool-vs-brighton/) a bombshell moment that threatened to completely derail the campaign.

Thankfully, he and Slot appear to have sorted the issue, with the Egyptian recalled to Liverpool’s squad for their Premier League clash with Brighton on Saturday.

Speaking to [_Football Insider_](https://www.footballinsider247.com/liverpool-board-make-their-feelings-clear-on-sacking-arne-slot-after-bust-up/), Wyness pointed the finger at CEO of Football, Michael Edwards, in terms of who the biggest problem is at Anfield:

_“Well, we discussed last week that I don’t think Slot is necessarily the problem. It seems to be above Arne Slot, and I’m looking at the Michael Edwards up there and that’s where I think the problems are._

_“I think that’s what Salah has been alluding to, saying that somebody in the club wants him out. I think Slot has sort of come in in clock shadow and therefore, I just think that Slot is going to be okay. I think the board have come out, and they’re going to stick with him, which they should do and I think he’s going to be okay._

_“I don’t think he is the root of the problem here, and so I think Slot will get the full backing and will carry on. If they don’t qualify for the Champions League next year, then I think Slot would be gone._  _So you know that’s where I think it leaves him, but at the moment I don’t think he’s going to get the blame for this particular bust-up.”_

**Is Michael Edwards the real problem at Liverpool?**

Every Liverpool fan will have their own opinion over who is in the wrong, whether it be Slot, Salah or Edwards, with arguments to be made for all three of them.

Salah’s comments were interesting, however, in terms of claiming that someone wanted him out of the club, with Edwards and sporting director Richard Hughes potentially seeing a chance to sell him for big money in January.

The truth may come out in the future, but for now, the hope is that the Liverpool legend plays a big role in a Reds victory over Brighton, before departing for the Africa Cup of Nations next week.
