Recent events have led to more clubs exploring the idea of signing the winger.
Mohamed Salah has been the talk of the town this week.
The chaos that ensued following his explosive interview at Elland Road last week sent an already struggling Liverpool spiraling.
Arne Slot suddenly had to re-group a shocked dressing room, as one of their greatest ever players abruptly announced that this could be his last month in a Reds shirt.
Emotions were understandably high at the time, but following peace talks with Arne Slot on Friday, Mohamed Salah will be introduced back into the team for Brighton’s visit to Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
It remains to be seen as to whether that will be introduced back to the bench, or straight into the starting lineup.
Listening to Mohamed Salah throw his future at Liverpool into uncertainty made the Saudi Pro League sit up and take notice.
The SPL have been eyeing the signing of Salah for some time now, after seeing a £150million offer for the Egyptian rejected back in 2023.
It feels inevitable that Saudi Arabia is where Salah will go to end his career, but for the time-being, Arne Slot and the club are determined to keep hold of their star man.
With that being said, there are two new potential destinations for Mohamed Salah that have emerged that could re-direct where he ends his career.
According to the Daily Mail, MLS sides San Diego and Chicago Fire hold interest in Mohamed Salah, but the expected financial package required would likely rule them out.
Plus, despite rumours emerging at the start of December, David Beckham’s Inter Miami are not interested in discussing the signing of Mohamed Salah.
Former US international Alexi Lalas said: “Given his talent and popularity, Salah will have plenty of suitors in MLS. There is a logical connection with Egyptian billionaire Mohamed Mansour owning San Diego FC and other MLS teams would consider it a marquee signing.”
MLS commissioner Don Garber has said, amid the chaos of this week, that if Salah decides to join the MLS they’d “welcome him with open arms.”
Mohamed Salah could decide to retire at Liverpool of course, but if he does decide to move to the SPL or MLS it would be a signing that would massively raise the quality of the league, and a transfer that the entire footballing world will be talking about.
But for the near future, everyone connected to Liverpool want him to remain a Red, and they believe that his trip to AFCON won’t change anything and that he’ll be right back to work with the club he has spent the last eight years at after he’s completed his international duties.
