David Moyes disagrees with what people have been telling him about Jack Grealish at Everton

Everton have already seen just how their big-money gamble on Jack Grealish has already paid off with his huge impact on the club.

The 30-year-old Grealish secured all three points in the recent away trip down to Bournemouth, with his deflected shot proving the only goal of the game.

David Moyes was delighted to have signed Grealish in what was a statement signing for the Toffees ahead of the stadium move.

Everton have a number of big-name players now at the club, who appear to be guiding them towards a charge for the European spots.

It took Grealish no time to make an impact on the squad having picked up the Player of the Month award for August.

However, there is something that Moyes has now admitted he has had to ignore about Grealish from certain people around the club.

What David Moyes has chosen to ignore involving Jack Grealish

Moyes has admitted he tells Grealish things straight and does not sugarcoat his feedback just because of his reputation.

The 30-year-old has played as a left-winger predominantly, despite Grealish’s brother suggesting he was a number 10 after signing for the Blues.

Speaking to the media on Friday from Finch Farm, Moyes has admitted he prefers Grealish from the flank rather than through the middle.

Finish the sentence: Next season, Jack Grealish will be playing for…

“People seemed to tell me that they thought he was a 10. I wasn’t sure,” said Moyes.

“We’ve tried him and we’re not really sure that might be it. That’s not to say we still won’t use him there because he can play there, but I thought he’s looked much better when he’s been off the sides, more creative with his dribbling ability.

“Also, he’s an incredibly hard worker and does a lot of things for the team.”

James Tarkowski thinks Grealish is Moyes’ favourite at the club, but it has been made apparent that he is willing to put his foot down.

Changes could be made over the coming weeks with Iliman Ndiaye set to depart for AFCON, but it seems as if Grealish’s spot on the wing is set.

Grealish has found his home at Everton under Moyes

Landing on Merseyside appears to be the perfect spot for Grealish to recapture his best form following some difficult years.

Grealish admitted Moyes is treating him very well at Everton by providing him with the support that he potentially was not getting under Pep Guardiola.

With two to his name so far, how many goals would make a good season for Jack Grealish? 👊

“I’m asking for him to score more goals. He’s capable of getting assists and we want that, I want him to get a bundle of goals as well.”

And that can be seen through the results on the pitch.

It has to be remembered that Moyes still wants more goals out of Grealish, with only two – albeit important goals – to his name this season.

With Ndiaye jetting off to represent Senegal from next week, there is going to be a lot more pressure on Grealish to step up in front of goal.
