Report: What Newcastle insiders are saying about Tino Livramento's price tag amid Man City…

Newcastle United will not be bullied by Manchester City over Tino Livramento.

While Man City are interested in signing Livramento, it does not necessarily mean they will get their man.

Following the sale of Alexander Isak in September, some may believe that there is an air of inevitability over the prospect of Livramento leaving.

Are you worried about Livramento’s Newcastle United future?

The Man City rumours refuse to go away.

Indeed, although the defender is under contract until the summer of 2028, Livramento is reportedly ready to delay further talks over his future until the end of the season.

Still, that does not mean he will be leaving at the end of the season. Livramento is happy at Newcastle and the club are prepared to stave off any transfer interest in him.

Newcastle United want more than £100m for Tino Livramento

According to The Chronicle, Newcastle have made it clear that they will not be selling Livramento in January, unless an astronomical offer is made.

Eddie Howe has made it clear to the Newcastle United owners that he wishes to build his team around Livramento going forward and that appears to have been taken on board by PIF.

The report adds that people inside the club believe not even £100million would be enough for Newcastle to sell the 23-year-old.

Newcastle are in a good position to demand such a fee, which would make him the most expensive full-back in history.

Man City’s Josko Gvardiol currently has that record after joining them from RB Leipzig in 2023 for a fee of around £77million.

“We have tried to utilise the foreign market without probably having the expertise in previous seasons that we need to make consistently good decisions in those markets.

“I think Ross will give us all of that. I think he will use his vast experience and build up his team and his method of work.”

This is why Eddie Howe is desperate to keep Tino Livramento at Newcastle United

Livramento has a profound effect on Newcastle’s style of play, such is his quality.

When Howe is able to start Livramento and Lewis Hall, Newcastle generally pick up a positive result.

Since the two came back from injury against Manchester City in November, Newcastle have won five of their six games.

The only game they lost was against Marseille, where Hall didn’t start as Howe looked to manage his minutes.

It’s difficult to think of a better full-back pairing across the Premier League and beyond.

Livramento transforms this team and, if they were ever to lose him, it would be a massive blow.

As such, it’s only right to demand that kind of money. If City – or anyone else for that matter – are serious, then they must pay up.
