Speaking on _El Larguero_ during _El Sanedrín Ilustrado_, Manuel Jabois criticized Real Madrid’s attitude following their defeat to Manchester City, focusing less on tactics and more on what he sees as a dangerous sense of complacency.
“How can there not be a better attitude? Suddenly we’re celebrating the bare minimum. Real Madrid has never been that,” Jabois said.
The criticism isn’t really about losing to Manchester City. It’s about how the loss is being framed. For Jabois, the concern is seeing effort and survival treated as something to applaud. That’s never been the standard at Real Madrid.
Madrid have always demanded more, regardless of the opponent. Some have already pointed out that the media noise less than 12 hours after the match — with players publicly backing Xabi Alonso — had a lot to do with the perceived satisfaction over an “attitude change” rather than the actual result and overall performance.
