Idrissa Gueye makes an immediate return to David Moyes’ starting XI for Everton's Premier League clash at Chelsea. The midfielder is back in contention after completing his three-match suspension.

The Blues boss has opted to return Gueye to the fold, with the veteran set to partner James Garner in the centre of midfield. That means Carlos Alcaraz, who had started the wins over Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth, will drop to the bench.

It also means Moyes has decided against using the availability of Gueye, whose ban followed his altercation with team-mate Michael Keane in the victory at Manchester United last month, to move Garner to right back.

Garner has enjoyed a good start to the campaign but his versatility has seen him utilised away from his preferred position, filling in on both sides of the defence. That will not be the case against Chelsea.

He is one of several Everton players Moyes has pushed for recognition for by England boss Thomas Tuchel. Another is Dewsbury-Hall, who earlier this season revealed in an interview with the ECHO that his preference was to fight for a spot in the England squad despite attempts from Republic of Ireland to get him to commit to their international set-up.

Dewsbury-Hall has been in stunning form across the past month and narrowly missed out on the Premier League’s player of the month accolade for November.

This will be his first return to Chelsea since his summer move from the World Club champions.
