Liverpool vs Brighton in the Premier League from Anfield - Saturday, 3pm

Mohamed Salah didn’t have to wait long before he was in action as Liverpool played Brighton at Anfield.

Almost the entire pre-match talk revolved around Salah following his “thrown under the bus” outburst after being placed on the bench for a few matches by Liverpool boss Arne Slot.

Saleh didn’t travel on Tuesday for Liverpool’s 1-0 Champions League win at Inter Milan and was then named on the bench for the clash against Brighton.

The Egyptian was though introduced from the bench after just 23 minutes as he replaced the injured Joe Gomez. Salah received a warm reception from the home crowd and no boos were heard as he trotted on to the pitch.

BBC reporter Aadam Patel posted: “Plenty of applause and appreciation for Mohamed Salah from all four sides of Anfield. Less than a week after his outburst, he's back playing for Liverpool.”

Former Liverpool player Stephen Warnock added: “Mo Salah has got to find that confidence and form again.

What Liverpool fans are reading into this situation is the manager and him have settled their differences and it is time to move on.”

The fact Liverpool were 1-0 up after just 46 seconds certainly helped the mood at Anfield.

Yankuba Minteh played a terrible cross field across is box, which Gomez nodded on and Hugo Ekitike expertly fired home.

It was Ekitike’s sixth league goal of the season and the fastest in the top flight this term.

Brighton were poor in the first and head coach Fabian Hurzeler will be very grateful it’s only 1-0 at halftime.
