Chelsea finally returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Everton at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.
The Blues temporarily returned to the top four of the table after putting an end to a four-game winless run in all competitions, welcoming back their key man in the process.
Cole Palmer scored his first goal at Stamford Bridge of the season in just his second start since returning from injury, and he settled some nerves inside the stadium after a nervy start.

Malo Gusto, who assisted Palmer’s goal, found the net himself just before half-time, with him another in contention for Man of the Match.

Chelsea player ratings vs Everton
Robert Sanchez – 7/10
A couple of very good saves in the first half kept Chelsea from conceding early, as Robert Sanchez continues to show improvement between the sticks.
Malo Gusto – 9/10
A goal and an assist added to Gusto’s very strong recent form, continuing to be a real menace as an extra man in the final third.
With Reece James shifting into midfield more regularly, that decision is made easier when Gusto is performing at such a high level.
Malo Gusto is becoming a regular in front of goal!
Has Malo Gusto earned a regular starting spot, even with Reece James available?

Wesley Fofana – 7/10
Wesley Fofana is currently Chelsea’s best centre-back, and prioritising his fitness should be Maresca’s number one priority right now.
The Frenchman lifts the standards of those around him, and enjoyed a strong performance against the Toffees.
Trevoh Chalobah – 7/10
Nearly perfect in possession of the ball, Trevoh Chalobah staked his claim to be a regular at the back very well at Stamford Bridge.
Marc Cucurella – 6/10
Facing a tough task in dealing with Iliman Ndiaye, Marc Cucurella did well to manage the threat that came his way.
Reece James – 7/10
The skipper continues to show that he is just as useful in the middle of the park as he is at right-back, however his position could change again with the pending return of Moises Caicedo.
Enzo Fernandez – 5/10
Sloppy in possession, it is becoming increasingly clear that Enzo Fernandez needs a break soon. This should hopefully come his way when the Blues face Cardiff in the week.
Pedro Neto – 7/10
Pedro Neto showed exactly what he can do with a brilliant run and assist for Gusto’s goal, showing the exact kind of direct attacking that supporters have been crying out for.
Cole Palmer – 8/10
Welcome back Palmer!
His first goal at Stamford Bridge this season helped restore the mood inside Stamford Bridge, when it looked as if Everton had made the stronger start to the game.
Protecting his fitness still seems the top priority, with Palmer coming off just before the hour mark.
Alejandro Garnacho – 5/10
Wasteful in front of goal, Alejandro Garnacho was guilty of missing some of the biggest chances Chelsea had to kill the game off completely. The Blues still look better with him in the side.
Joao Pedro – 6/10
Quiet game for Joao Pedro, who again found himself in plenty of duels that he had very little chance of winning.
Andrey Santos – 6/10
Helped steady the ship in the second half with some good defensive work, whilst also keeping Chelsea ticking in attack.
Jamie Gittens – 6/10
Slotted right into the Chelsea attack upon his introduction, however is still on the lookout for his first Premier League goal.
Estevao Willian – N/A
