Mo Salah tapped the Liver Bird upon his chest after setting a new Premier League-era record during the Reds’ 2-0 win over Brighton.
Amid all the speculation around Salah’s future, it was nice to see him get back on the pitch, even if it was a result of an injury to Joe Gomez.
The Egyptian came on for his teammate in the 26th minute and almost set up a goal moments after coming on, as he slid Alexis Mac Allister in only for the Argentine to pass instead of shoot.
After the match, Salah applauded the Kop and tapped the Liver Bird while the crowd sang his name.
During his bombshell interview after Liverpool’s draw last weekend, Salah alluded to the Reds’ match against Brighton being his last match at Anfield.
However, the situation may now have changed after he held ‘positive’ talks with Arne Slot on Friday which led to him making the squad on Saturday.
Last weekend, Salah said: “I called my mum yesterday and told them ‘come to the Brighton game’, it doesn’t matter if I play or not, I’m going to enjoy it.
“We’ll see what’s going to happen, but in my head I’m going to enjoy that game if I play or not, I’m on the bench or not.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen now, but that’s going to be at Anfield, say goodbye to the fans before the Africa Cup, because I don’t know what’s going to happen when I’m there.”

While he didn’t get on the scoresheet, Salah did set up a goal, delivering the inswinging corner that Hugo Ekitike nodded in at the back post.
The assist was Salah’s 89th in the Premier League and saw him move onto 277 combined Premier League goals and assists for Liverpool.
That tally moves him past Wayne Rooney and makes him the player with the highest combined total of goals and assists for a single club in the Premier League era (since 1992).
It is another landmark for a man who has cemented himself as a legend of the club and one of the greatest attackers in English football history.
Hopefully, he can remain on Merseyside beyond January and add to his 250 Liverpool goals.
For now, though, he is off to Morocco to play for Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations.
