Everton are set to monitor concerns raised by Jack Grealish over a potential hamstring issue. The Blues star is understood to have informed club staff that he had a concern in the aftermath of the 2-0 defeat to Chelsea.

Everton manager David Moyes said: “Jack felt his hamstring so we just need to be careful with these boys.”

Moyes had hinted at a belief his team had picked up knocks earlier on in his post-match press conference. When asked by the ECHO for further details, he highlighted Grealish as one case.

His update on the Manchester City loanee came after a match in which he [lost Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to injury in the opening stages](http://Everton rocked by injury blow as in-form star limps off at Chelsea).

The 27-year-old, a talisman through a month of landmark victories that lifted the club into the upper echelons of the Premier League table, was withdrawn just after 10 minutes into this match.

Dewsbury-Hall headed straight down the tunnel after being applauded by all four stands on his first return to his former club.

He appeared to be holding his hamstring but the nature of the injury was not confirmed by Moyes

Moyes said he had no further information on Dewsbury-Hall’s status when he spoke to the press after a match in which the Blues created a glut of opportunities as they continued to show they can be competitive with teams competing in the Champions League.

Asked whether this defeat was a case of ‘fine margins’ - Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye both went close, the latter hitting the post - he joked there was a “billion pound difference” but added: “I thought we played well today. I did.

“We've got a good away record, and I hope the people who haven't watched us actually recognise why.

“We've done really well and today we've done well.”

Moyes reflected on the loss of Dewsbury-Hall, which came with the game goalless. Of the loss of one of his star players this season, he said: “It disrupted us for about 10, 15 minutes.

“I thought we'd started the game well. In that period we just lost the goal… it’s hard to be disappointed with a lot of the stuff we've done.

“But I'm disappointed because we didn't win, disappointed because we've got a couple injuries, but not disappointed with how the players are going about it.

“Right to the end they kept going, kept trying to get a goal, tried to get us back in the game.

“The one thing I would say is we were never out of the game at 2-0. There was always a chance if we could get one then we'd have a chance of getting another.”
