Enzo Maresca felt that the ‘reaction was good’ from Chelsea to recent form

Enzo Maresca reflected on a 2-0 win for **Chelsea**against **Everton**in the Premier League.

The Blues have blown the momentum from their 1-1 draw against **Arsenal**in November, losing 3-1 to Leeds United and drawing 0-0 with **Bournemouth**in their last two league games. A 2-1 defeat at **Atalanta**followed in the Champions League, putting on the pressure for a return to winning ways at Stamford Bridge.

Maresca’s men responded against the Toffees. From a midfield position, Malo Gusto got an integral role in the game: he threaded a through ball to set up the first goal for Cole Palmer since his return from a groin injury before the Frenchman found the back of the net himself on the stroke of half time.

"I'm happy. It's important to win games after two or three we didn't win. It's important for the players. We are happy.

"If we are not able to win, win, win that still doesn't mean we're not ready to compete for titles.

"I think the reaction was good. The players want to win every game. Sometimes we struggle a little bit more, sometimes we are able to win the game. I think in this moment it was very important for the players to win the game."

"The game is never finished. We had many chances, we missed. But overall I'm happy with the clean sheet and the performance.

*"We said many times with **Cole Palmer*we are a better team. Unfortunately he was out for many games for us, but now he's back and for sure he will help us."

*“[**Reece James**and **Malo Gusto*] are good players and when they are good players they can play in every position. They can play full-back and midfielder. Malo took the chance and his assist for Cole, so I am very happy for Malo.”
