Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta on narrow win over Wolves and another injury blow

**Mikel Arteta admits he was relieved and frustrated after Arsenal’s narrow win over struggling Wolves at the Emirates, and provided an update on another defensive injury.**

[The Gunners had two own goals to thank for their 2-1 win](https://hayters.com/arsenal-survive-huge-scare-to-beat-winless-wolves/), with Yerson Mosquera heading into his own net late on after Tolu Arokodare’s equaliser.

“It was relief but with a very clear understanding that the margin should have been bigger,” Arteta said on the win over the Premier League’s bottom club.

“After not being precise enough in the first half with the amount of situations that we generated inside the opposition box, and we didn’t pick the right colour of the shirt. We had many overload situations to do that.

“We had to improve in the second half in relation to that. I think we did it, we generated more chances and scored a goal, but after we had a few minutes where we were deep, totally passive, with horrible defensive habits that is nowhere near the level against a team that hasn’t had single shot.

“The first time that they had an opportunity to do it, they scored a goal, and this is the Premier League. Fortunately we are relieved because we managed to score a goal at the end and go on and win it but we need to improve in that sense for sure.”

Arteta has also been dealt another injury concern in defence with Ben White forced off with what looks to be a hamstring problem.

“Obviously he hasn’t played a lot of minutes because of the previous knee issue that he had, then the moment he started to get some momentum, he had to play a lot because we didn’t have any other solution,” Arteta said.

“We had to risk Willy (Saliba) today. It probably wasn’t the best call to play him 90 minutes because we were buying tickets for another injury but we don’t have anybody else.

“But yeah, that’s bad news for sure (White’s injury).

“It looks like a hamstring (injury) so we don’t know the extent of that but probably tomorrow we will know more.”
