The German is yet to score his first goal for Liverpool, but Slot thinks he has just been getting better and better.
Speaking in the aftermath of Saturday’s game, as per NBC Sports, he said: “The way he [Wirtz] handles the ball, how comfortable he is with that.
“I think he is also one of the players I mean when I say he is getting better and better. He was already very good when we signed him but he’s getting better and better.
“He’s getting stronger and stronger, running people off the ball, all the hard work the players have put in in the last few months is paying off more and more if you look at individual performances.”

Arne Slot on Liverpool’s summer signings
Liverpool paid out over £400m for new players in the most recent transfer window.
Right-back Jeremie Frimpong has spent much of the campaign so far on the sidelines.
Alexander Isak is struggling for consistent form, but a couple of names like Ekitike and Wirtz are coming good.
On his summer additions, Slot said post-Brighton: “Very well. But I think I can see the players we have brought in this season have progressed.
“They are getting stronger and stronger and fitter and fitter. I can see them getting stronger in the duels they play. Hugo is an example of that, but others are examples of that too.”
