It was a much-improved night on Thursday for the Ireland international who bagged a brace for AS Roma in the Europa League.
After the game, Ferguson addressed the links to Everton over recent days amid his own struggles in the Italian capital.

“At the moment he is on loan but we follow it, we are pleased how he performed yesterday,” he told BBC Sport.
“Of course we all follow it so definitely he might be an option.”
Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini was delighted with Ferguson’s display against Celtic, which saw him score his second and third goals of the season.
However, it has not been a positive season for the 21-year-old striker, who looks in need of another fresh start in the New Year.

Ferguson has endured a difficult spell at Roma over the opening half of the 2025/26 campaign.
The Toffees have already witnessed the struggles Ferguson endured on loan at West Ham earlier in the year for the second half of last season.
